Watercolor with pencil shading on 24cm x 32cm paper
My original character Venilla <3<3<3 She is a time seller. She can sell time to people who want more time (like me *lol* I really want free time ksdjflksdjf ) and also buy time from people who have too much free time with nothing to do. Also time slip, stop the time, go to future, back to the past etc. is also on sale XD
I just notice that I drew the train too small...... *blush*
As an intermediate watercolor / multimedia artist, I can appreciate how difficult this must have been. There is just so much detail! The colors have a soft, almost faded look which is perfect for the "time" theme, and the whole piece fades nicely into a border. Perspective and shading are very well done - I especially like the pearly clock faces. It is always wonderful to find a deviation in which the concept and the actual piece are equally impressive; I love the idea of someone in their "working space" selling time as a commodity. The maps and colored bottles are very fantasy-style, but the random clutter of all the objects together creates a very realistic atmosphere. In my opinion, there are a few things that could be better. The ceiling / sky should have fewer white stars - this could make it more dramatic / more depth. Also, your character is lovely, but she is a bit difficult to see - maybe brighter colors and sharper lines would help; that way there would be a central focus in this deviation. In the description you made a remark about the train being too small - I agree it should be larger, but I also think that it doesn't really affect the piece in a negative way. If you had not mentioned this in the description, I wouldn't have noticed right away, so don't worry!
I would like to mention that this is my first critique. I read many other critiques and read the official rules, but I'm not sure if I did it right... So I understand if you choose not to display it, I would not be offended at all. ~nfaas
the locomotive looks perfect to me I like the shorter or smaller engines (works on a 2ft gauge railway and has soft spots for a 15 inch guage in the north, and a 12 inch guage in the south)
Awesome work! So many details. Moreover, it's traditional, I've never been good at working with traditional stuff like watercolours, that is why I'm more than just amazed by how wonderfully it is done Also, I loved the idea of the picture and character
